Oslo, the capital of Norway, is an interesting city.
On one side, it’s the biggest city in Norway. On another, it only takes 15 minutes to get to the wide forests, lakes, and hills from the city center.
There are many beautiful hikes to do in Oslo and multiple day trips from the capital you can take.

Oslo is fun in the winter, with ice skating, and Christmas markets.
It’s an expensive city, but it’s possible to travel on a budget and find some good hotels in Oslo.

Spro Cave (Spro Gruve) – “Diamond” Mine Near Oslo
Spro cave or Spro mine (“Spro gruve” in Norwegian) is one of these places that you wouldn’t expect to find near Oslo. But here it is! The abandoned mine and a cave that shimmers in the sun, with a “diamond beach” and peaceful surroundings. All that makes Spro Cave a great place to visit, a short way from Norway’s capital.
