Information You Voluntarily Submit to the Website
- Information that you provide filling the forms on Worldering Around. This includes sign up for newsletters, comments, contact forms.
- Providing your name and email address by subscribing to the Worldering Around travel newsletter means that you agree to receive the Worldering Around newsletter, which is sent periodically, usually once a month or several times a year. You can always unsubscribe by following the link in the email or by contacting Worldering Around directly on firstname.lastname@example.org. After that, you will be permanently removed from the list.
- If you contact me, I might store the records of that correspondence for customer service purposes, but I do not use that information for marketing purposes.
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
The information collected from others
We may receive information about you from other sources, for instance, if you choose to link your Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linkedin and/or Google accounts in the website field when commenting.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
I might automatically collect certain information about you and the device with which you access the Website. For example, when you use the Website, we will log your IP address, operating system type, browser type, referring website, pages you viewed, and the dates/times when you accessed the Website. We may also collect information about actions you take when using the Website, such as links clicked and other details of your visits to my site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data and other communication data.
Like many other websites, my blog makes use of log files, which is a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’ analytics. The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site and gather demographic information. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.
I might log information using cookies, which are small files, that are stored on your browser by the Website. They are collected in order to tailor the content to the needs of the visitor. We may use both session cookies, which expire when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which stay on your browser until deleted. This helps to improve and personalize the content of the website and it is only used for statistical analysis purposes.
How your data may be used

- To send you personalized travel newsletter and related travel and marketing information. Each of those communications has information on how to opt-out from it.
- To send you administrative communications, such as administrative emails, confirmation emails, technical notices, updates on policies, or security alerts
- To respond to your comments or questions.
- To offer a personalized website experience.
- When you leave a comment on a post, you will not be contacted without permission and your personal information will not be used, processed or shared, unless specifically agreed by you.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
