This is me - a responsible, wise 30-years old, hanging around with iguanas and sea lions on the powdery white sand🦎
I’ve never really shared it here, but a few weeks ago I turned 30. A month of celebrations started here, on the Galápagos Islands.

Those 30 years, and especially the last 10 of them, have been a crazy ride that has led me through 60 countries, allowed me to meet wonderful people, live through amazing adventures and admire the unforgettable views.
And all that, while studying or working full-time. I come from a small town in Poland and I organized and financed all my travels myself (with money or work). More about it in bio 👆

I believe that if you work towards your goals and dreams you will have a high chance of achieving them* (depending on conditions, because as a traveler with a Polish passport I already have a privileged status compared to others). My first far-away journey was a trip to the Indian Himalayas, Ladakh in Kashmir. I immediately fell in love with wild and off the beaten path places.
Years of travel taught me some important things. About the privilege of traveling, about hard work and sacrifices, about the diversity of people and their possibilities and choices, as well as about the impact of tourism on the environment and local communities (negative as well as positive) and how to minimize the negative one. These are difficult but important topics.
I know that if it wasn't for travel, I wouldn't be the person I am now. I wonder what the next 30 years will bring!

Pink sunsets in the jungle.

I wanted to visit the Amazon rainforest for as long as I remember. The abundance of wildlife, the sounds, the smells, the feel of the forever-active jungle seemed like a dream come true to me.
In Ecuadorian part of the Amazon I have not only seen amazing animals and views, but also learned why ecotourism is crucial to the wellbeing of the Amazon rainforest and the local communities living there. Especially during the devastating Amazon fires in other parts of the forest. I hope more people learns about the importance of sustainable ecotourism practices in this beautiful part of the Amazon. Rożowe zachody słońca w dżungli.
Od kiedy pamiętam, chciałam odwiedzić Amazonię. Obfitość dzikiej przyrody, dźwięki i zapach wiecznie aktywnej dżungli przyciągały mnie jak magnes.

W ekwadorskiej części amazońskiej dżungli udało mi się zobaczyć nie tylko niesamowite zwierzęta i widoki, ale także dowiedzieć się, dlaczego ekoturystyka jest tak ważna dla lasów deszczowych Amazonii i lokalnych społeczności tam żyjących. Szczególnie podczas niszczących pożarów w innej jej części. Mam nadzieję, że więcej ludzi zrozumie znaczenie zrównoważonych praktyk ekoturystycznych, a nie wszyscy wiedzą, że można je znaleźć wlasnie w Amazonii w Ekwadorze. *Więcej informacji znajdziecie w poście na blogu. It made me so happy to be in the Galápagos Islands and see Ecuador realizing the value and importance of the wildlife protection and conservation. There are strict rules in place, and limits that are respected.
It is not perfect, and more work needs to be done. But it feels so good to walk to an empty, clean beach full of with sea lions, where you can see them relaxing and playing in the water.
It is a place where animals come first.

This baby sea lion, with his fur covered in sand, was curiously looking at me when I kept my distance to take his picture. I felt extremely grateful to be able to experience those wild encounters. Let’s hope there are more places around the world like Galapagos, where the animals are treated with priority.

🇵🇱 Moja podróż na wyspy Galapagos napełniła mnie nadzieją, że są jeszcze na świecie miejsca gdzie zwierzęta są traktowane z godnością. Wspaniale jest móc zobaczyć kraj, który zdaje sobie sprawę z wartości bogactw przyrody, które posiada i jak ważna jest ich ochrona. Na Galapagos znajdziecie surowe zasady i ograniczenia, które są przestrzegane.

Ten system nie jest doskonały i wciąż wymaga pracy. Ale i tak wspaniale jest móc wejść na pustą, czystą plażę pełną lwów morskich, relaksujących się na piasku i nurkujących w wodzie, gdzie zawsze znajdą wystarczającą ilość ryb.
Mała uszatka ze zdjęcia, cała wytarzana w piasku, ciekawie na mnie spoglądała, i wcale się nie bała, kiedy robiłam zdjęcie.
Jestem niesamowicie wdzięczna za możliwość tak bliskiego obcowania z dziką przyrodą. Mam nadzieję, że więcej miejsc na świecie, będzie stawiać zwierzęta na pierwszym miejscu, tak jak Galapagos.

Listening to the night voices in the Amazon jungle, under the blanket of stars and the Milky Way brightening up the sky. [PL ↓]

The jungle never sleeps. You can hear gentle chirping of crickets, hooting sound of owl, chatter of night monkeys. Snakes hiss in the bushes and spiders hunt for small insects. Amazon rainforest at night is a different world. A world full of adventure and mystery.

I was lucky to experience it during our 4-day stay in the Ecuadorian part of the Amazon jungle in Cuyabeno Reserve with @ecuatraveling
I will never forget traveling at night in a wooden canoe, cutting through the black silky water, which is home to pink river dolphins, piranhas and caimans. Sitting back in my seat and looking up at the Milky Way moving directly above my head. :::

Słucham nocnych odgłosów amazońskiej dżungli pod niebem usianym gwiazdami, wpatrzona w Drogę Mleczną wiodącą nie wiadomo gdzie.

Dżungla nigdy nie śpi. Chór cykad, hukanie sowy, piszczenie nocnych małp buszujących po gałęziach drzew, syk węży w zaroślach i ciche łowy pająków. Amazonia nocą to całkowicie inny świat. Świat pełen przygód i tajemnic.

Udało mi się doświadczyć niesamowitości dżungli amazońskiej podczas czterodniowego pobytu w ekwadorskiej jej części - w rezerwacie Cuyabeno.
W mojej pamięci już na zawsze pozostanie nocna wyprawa drewnianą łódką po czarnych wodach rzeki, gdzie żyją różowe delfiny, piranie i małe krokodyle.

Tungeneset, Senja island, Norway.

The summer is slowly coming to the end in Norway and the weather is starting to be more moody. I like dark clouds. They create dramatic view of the sharp peaks rising from the sea. Soon, I’ll be on the other side of the ocean, looking at other dramatic and unusual landscape. .
Tungeneset is a wooden walkway leading to the striking view. The walkway overlooks the sharp Oksen mountain and the crashing waves of the North Sea. The bright colours of the larch wood contrast well with the dark stones and deep green peaks in the horizon.
The view reminds me of the Jurassic Park movie (where are the dinos though?). The rocks by the shore create a flat surface that collects the seawater and, in the calm weather, acts as a mirror reflecting the peaks in the background.

Krajobraz z wyspy Senja w Norwegii.

Lato w Norwegii dobiega końca, przynosząc chłodne poranki i ciemne, nisko zawieszone chmury. Mroczny, tajemniczy klimat jest jednak idealny do zdjęć strzelistych szczytów wyrastających prosto z wód fiordu. Widoki na Senji są niesamowite.
.
A ja, już za kilka dni będę po drugiej stronie oceanu podziwiając inne zadziwiające widoki.

One of the reasons that I love wild camping and camping in general, is the opportunity to watch thousands of stars at night.⁣⁣

There’s no comparable feeling to looking at the Milky Way sparkling above your head. It reminds me how small we really are, dotted on this planet that we call home.⁣⁣
⁣
It does make me feel more grounded and forget about, sometimes silly, things the society is obsessed with. ⁣⁣
⁣
Some of my favourite places to watch the night sky are Wadi Rum in Jordan (where this photo was taken), Himalayas in northern India, deserts of the Middle East and pretty much anywhere with clear skies in Central Asia and Africa.⁣⁣

Jedną z głównych przyczyn dlaczego tak lubię spanie pod namiotem, zwłaszcza na dziko, to możliwość oglądania nocnego spektaklu na niebie. Milion gwiazd nad głową znaczy dla mnie więcej niż kilka gwiazdek przy nazwie hotelu.⁣⁣

Niektóre z moich ulubionych miejsc do oglądania gwiazd to pustynia Wadi Rum w Jordanii (gdzie to zdjęcie zostało zrobione), Himalaje w północnych Indiach, kraje Bliskiego Wschodu i Afryki.⁣⁣

Dancing in the wind (in the mountains of Senja) 💃🏻 The second largest island in Norway is located above the Arctic Circle and has very dramatic landscape. During the summer the sun never sets creating the white nights. That’s also the time when you can admire the natural phenomenon of the midnight sun, when the sun remains visible at midnight.

We camped just a few hundred meters below the spot, that you can see on the picture. It was a very windy and bright night, but with a beautiful view!

Tańczę na szczycie w górach Senji 💃🏻 Senja to wyspa położona na północy Norwegii, za kołem podbiegunowym. Pełna dramatycznych krajobrazów i widoków zapierających dech w piersiach, wciąż nie jest zbyt często odwiedzana przez turystów.
W lecie na Senji można podziwiać fenomen białych nocy i słońca o północy, które o tej porze roku nigdy nie zachodzi.

Some places, even though popular with tourists, still can hide areas full of tranquility and peace.
I found Wadi Rum Desert to be just like that. It’s one of the most visited places in Jordan after Petra, yet, you can still be alone walking in between the eroded rocks, stepping on the soft sand and watching the rays of light coming into the canyon.
I’m so grateful for the moments like these. In the world that can’t stop talking, where travelling is accessible to everyone, peaceful places are hard to be found. Let’s remember to keep this beautiful planet in a good state and protect what we have left!

Nawet w popularnych miejscach można znaleźć ciche zakątki. Pustynia Wadi Rum jest jednym z takich miejsc. Wyrzeźbione przez erozję skały, miękki piasek, ciepłe promienie zachodzącego słońca.

Solo travel in Central Asia left me in awe.

It’s definitely not a popular region among the western travellers, but it has so much to offer.
The mesmerising Silk Road architecture in Uzbekistan, the free roaming horses in the mountains of Kyrgyzstan, the turquoise lakes in Kazakhstan. The friendliness and hospitality of local people is outstanding and the prices are cheap. :::
I fell in love with the nature, the culture and the locals. I will be back!
